2023 Free Agency
Figured we could get one of these going as well.
Who's some guys we like, would like to see in KC? |
Michael Gallup, but he'll likely get paid a shit ton more elsewhere.
|
Greg Gaines and Carl Lawson once he's cut please.

There's some real under the radar type DE's I'd like to see us check out that would come cheaper than the Davenports (he fits here IMO). Looking around at the FS market...I'm guessing they just go to the draft there and slide Cook into Thornhills spot. |

DJ Chark would be amazing

I would like Parris Campbell and Darius Slayton at WR too.

If Cook moves to Thornhill's spot, Julian Love would be a nice replacement in that 3rd safety spot.

Poona Ford
|
Bring in Ricky Stanzi

I like O.City's idea of Parris Campbell. He can take Gallup's spot on my want list. Do that instead of giving up a 2nd for DHop. |

No one is making that deal, Arizona's asking price is going to come down quite a bit. |
You guys are looking at that all wrong
"Starts at a 2nd" usually ends up meaning, "we'll take a 4th". |
I'm hearing rumors D. Hopkins to KC has real legs.

It was really more tongue in cheek answer though. |

**** trading for Hopkins. That would be such a stupid move.

The Jags are already getting Ridley. They have more pressing needs.

If we could get dhop for a 3rd and have him sign a 3 year deal we are going to ****ing own everyone for the next few years.
I dont worry about the age yet. His game isn’t based on speed. This move could be the tom brady-randy moss move |

I would be happy to keep some of KC's free agents.

Dear not Chiefs fans. According to Schefter we’re going to trade 2 FA’s we have on the team!! How do these people even have a job?? Trading OBJ and Juju??? LMAO

Just saw Evan Engram say he would love to come play in KC. Any thoughts on him? Might be a solid TE to pickup if the price was right.

Iiiiiiiiinteresting... |
Seems like 4 years, $60-68 million may be what it takes to secure Taylor's services.
If I thought he could make a transition to LT, I'd pretty strongly consider it. I think there's more talent there than he's had an opportunity to showcase to this point in his career. |

I'm sorry, but anyone who wouldn't spend a 3rd on DHop under his current deal is smoking crack.
|
Quote:
Chris, you'll get your money. Just play football. |
Quote:
|
Chris wants to keep Frank around? Sure. Start by cutting Frank's base pay until you get his cap hit in the $14-16 million range and extend Jones to lower his cap hit this year.
|
Quote:
(Just kidding) I've always said under his current deal only. |

Quote:
I know he's your buddy and all, but the pie is only so big and the more of that you want, the less of that he can have. Because we still have an OL and WR corps to figure out. Oh, and an actual long-term plan at DE wouldn't hurt given that Clark's simply an aging player at this point in his career. |
So what's the going rate for Davenport gonna be?
|
Quote:
Much easier to stomach the idea of a rookie at LT if you have a proven, above-average vet at the other spot. |

"This year, Jones, according to a league source, wants an extension that will make him at least the second-highest player at his position. In June, Aaron Donald, the Los Angeles Rams’ superstar defensive tackle, signed a three-year, $95 million contract restructure."
Considering second is 21AAV (DeForest Buckner) and Aaron Donald is 31.67AAV, thats a massive gap in contract space to be the 2nd highest player... |
Yeah I don’t see us being active in FA. Maybe a guy in the 2nd wave.
We should be good for an Eric Reid or MVS type player/contract. |
Quote:
So 4 year, $90 million with $45-55 mil. gtd? You good with that Chris? If so, let's get it done. |

According to multiple league sources, the Chiefs are interested in adding a veteran at the position, someone who will compete with Buechele and Oladokun for the role during training camp and the preseason. This spring, the open market includes several quarterbacks who could be interested in working alongside Reid and Mahomes, including Teddy Bridgewater, Jacoby Brissett, Marcus Mariota, Andy Dalton, Taylor Heinicke, Gardner Minshew, Carson Wentz and Chase Daniel. |

Because odds are that rookie OT will need to play RT in the near term anyway. Taylor at RT really wouldn't make me that much more comfortable in a rookie LT. I'm just going to have a really hard time warming to that idea. If we are going to get a LT from the draft, the time to do it is the year before you have to. A rookie LT just isn't a good idea. Even the best have a really long learning curve and the odds are exceptionally high that we take a significant step back at the position for a year and possibly 2. |
Free agent WR Marcus Kemp is following his offensive coordinator to Washington. He signed with the Commanders this morning, per source.
Kemp is reunited in Washington with Eric Bieniemy, the offensive coordinator with whom he's spent most of his career. |

We got handcuffed a bit by his bizarre approach to extension discussions and it left us stuck in the middle since it mostly fell apart after the draft. This time around we can approach the draft differently, get that developmental OT, play him on the tag one more time and walk away next season. Typically I'm 100% opposed to playing a guy on the tag for a second season but in this particular instance, there might be some utility in it. |
