When is Morel Season?
 

I'll be back in Missouri during the first week in May. When do the morels pop up? It's been years since I've had some delicious fried mushrooms. It would just be awesome if we could have some.

Theyre starting to pop up, but they are really small. Im sure tomorrow theyll really be blowing up

Still to early now in the KC area.. not much green follage in the woods yet.. I looked in my diary from last year and found around 75 around On May 2nd... I think they will be that late again this year..

Down in southwest MO theyre popping up. My uncle has found a few around the Clinton, MO area.

They're here. Got some reds today. They'll be popping this weekend and next week I'd say

They're very yummy and penis shaped.

Too early! Can they be froze? How long do they stay good?

Yeah I think they can freeze.

Lots of rain the past couple days and Sunday or Monday it's supposed to be 70. They should be everywhere after that

I'd be shocked if they freeze well. If they're like mushrooms they have a lot of moisture in them so freezing would destroy their texture.

I've got 2 places in NETX and have yet to find any and it makes me sad. Thinking about ordering some spores and trying to seed a bed in the woods next to the house.
