Another strong game today for Watson. 3 TDs against the Titans so far.

Kid just seems to have 'It'.

Watson wouldn't be playing this year for the Chiefs and theywould say he needs a year or two behind Alex cuck Smith.

Only time will tell.

Watson was the guy I wanted the Chiefs to get, but I knew they wouldn't be able to get him. Mahomes was the guy I figured we'd have to take because he'd drop.

Now they both look excellent.

It's impossible to tell right now, check back in about three seasons.

Can't know when we're wasting a year with a ****ing piece of shit at QB.

The fact that you wanted Watson almost guarantees he will ultimately be a colossal failure of a QB.

I still think Watson will be another Robert Griffin/Vince Young type who finds some early success but ultimately turns out to be average at best once the league gets some tape on them.

I think Watson is certainly proving he can play in this league. He might not make as many 'highlight reel' plays as Mahomes, but he can play

Looking like both will be good. Which is great for the league

Still too early. Vince Young and Robert Griffin were pro bowl level players as rookies. Then the league caught on to their game.

No shit. My "official" draft endorsements of 1st round QBs is not exactly a future Hall of Famer list: Jimmy Clausen and Geno Smith.

Yikes.

But I also wanted Mahomes in the 1st. Just not as much as Watson.

I think that the only reason to want Watson over Mahomes right now is wanting our quarterback to start now. But that's short sighted. We have the luxury of being able to sit our rookie quarterback for a year. We will know in 2-3 years if we made the right choice or not. It's silly to question it now

That was on the Texans GM, and the overall impression is that wasn't a move that O'Brien was in favor of.

Whatever he case, NFL GMs and head coaches are stupid sometimes.

Why the hell do you start Tom Savage and Mike Glennon over your prized rookies? I don't get it. Play the kids and develop them if you have nothing but trash in front of them.

Watson is not VY or Griffin. Stop stereotyping.

Watson is a traditional mid first caliber QB prospect - great intangibles, decent arm, must cut down on picks.

I don't believe I've seen Penbrook actively root against Mahomes.

Pro Alex Smith does not equal anti-Mahomes.

He's rooting for his team's current starting QB. Nothing wrong with that.

We go the better QB. We drafted from a position of strength like GB did with Rogers. They had Favre and could afford to let Rogers learn. Smith is not of Favre's quality but Smith is in one sense a better mentor. He's smart and he's willing to mentor. Watson will be a good AqB but I think Mahomes talent ceiling is higher. If Mahomes went to Cleveland his QB development would have been really stunted, not to mention he would be surrounded by poor talent. Here, he has the opportunity to learn from Reid and Smith and develop. That will allow him a better chance to be the best QB he can be. From what I've seen of the two of them, I think that is better than Watson.

pugsnotdrugs19 10-01-2017 03:13 PM

Are we seriously going to have this debate when our guy hasn't even played and the other has played 3 games?

Watson has his strengths and weaknesses. Right now they are doing a great job setting him up to make plays doing the things he does best. Eventually teams are going to plan for him properly and make him very uncomfortable by forcing him to look outside the numbers and down the field.

I'd bet we make him look like a real rook next week.

Judging by the war room Watson pick pic, he didn't seem to be too thrilled with the Watson pick either. The GM sure was, though.
