Sandwich/hamburger bread and pizza crust. They are the foundations of their respective meals, and subpar foundations can utterly destroy an otherwise finely crafted dish. For me, the bread and crusts are the most important pieces.

Generally, sauces. A good sauce can tie an entire dish together and define the experience. It's also an art that takes a lot of practice to really master.

I prefer the gizzards, but like livers a lot as well.

Going by the overrated thread: sushi.

Lasagna. It's a very unassuming dish, but it's the perfect combination of meat, sauce, cheese, and pasta. And it's one of my all time favorite dishes.

Im not a fan of salmon grilled, seared, poached or baked. But give me that can of salmon an egg bread crumbs mixed and fried into Salmon Crockett's, oven baked Mac and Cheese and a side of succotash with extra lima beans and I'm a happy camper.

Whiskey.

Kraft Mac and Chee with cream of mushroom soup and tuna.
