Least Deserving Hall of Famers: Texans, Broncos, Panthers, Bengals, and Patriots

VOTE FOR THREE.

With all of the talk about undeserving people in the Hall of Fame, I thought it might be interesting to identify the absolute least deserving people in the Hall of Fame.

I'll do this first for players, identifying the least deserving players by team, and then we'll do a heat or two for non-players.

Poll coming in less time than it takes for Elway to flee from the Colts.

You can read profiles of the players here, in a very unfriendly format on the HoF site: https://www.profootballhof.com/heroe...me/franchises/

Rules note: If a team has less than 10 HoFers, I'll combine them with another team to get to that number.

Crazy it took that many teams to hit 10 players.

Coochie liquor 05-15-2019 11:13 AM

I went Elway, Davis, and the last option.

Yeah, I just kept going and going. All of these teams must be terrible.

I'm rather stunned that the Bengals have one HoFer in their franchise history if you eliminate a couple of drive-by players.

(Nods.) Good voting.

I went Elway, Davis, and Floyd Little. I think Mike Haynes is overrated, but he skated by in an easy heat.

Priest Holmes:

More games, more yards, same YPA, 30% more TDs, far better receiving and blocker than Davis. If Davis got in, Holmes should be first ballot.

Davis benefited from very dirty blocking techniques. Put him on a clean team and he's ordinary.

Davis for sure...3 times if I could. What a joke

He also benefitted from Vaseline and a circumvented salary cap.

This one's easy....

Davis
Bailey
Law

Regular season stats, right?

Yup, exactly what I thought.

If the goal is to narrow this down to the least deserving member of the HOF, I'll save you the time, Rain Man.

It's Terrell Davis. Not even close.

He does seem to be a frontrunner, but Jerome Bettis is still lurking out there.

I'm surprised that Floyd Little isn't getting more traction with his one season of 1,000+ yards and his 3.0 career ypc. I thought he would be a strong candidate.

chiefzilla1501 05-15-2019 05:48 PM

I LOL'ed that there were actually votes for Munoz and Hannah, then I realized what was going on.

smithandrew051 05-15-2019 09:14 PM

I love John Elway as a GM though

GloucesterChief 05-15-2019 09:20 PM

Davis. Denver could and did put any JAG behind that knee targeting line and get a thousand + yard season.

AssEaterChief 05-15-2019 11:35 PM

People actually voted for Anthony Munoz?

I didn't get to see him play, but by all accounts he is one of the best O lineman in NFL history...

Floyd Little was a bow legged novelty act so they let him in. One good season, otherwise a Donnel Bennett like career, resting on his college days. Not as generic as Terrell Davis though. Bet they wish the could rescind that one.

Deberg_1990 05-16-2019 06:24 AM

Heh, on the Hall of Fame website, they actually list Ed Reed as the only Houston Texans inductee.

lawrenceRaider 05-16-2019 08:39 AM

Little and Davis should not be in the HOF. Little being in the HOF is a complete joke. Davis is a bit more borderline, but doesn't measure up.

Ty Law is borderline as well, but maybe just on the right side of that line.

oldman 05-16-2019 09:03 AM

Munoz is a HoFer. As much as I hate to admit it, Elway and Sharpe are, too. I'm going to give Little a pass just because for many years, he was all Denver had. Those were some lousy teams. Therefore, Davis, Bailey, and Law can GTFO of the Hall so we can add more Chiefs.
