Stafford signs extension...
The Detroit Lions have signed Matthew Stafford to a 3 year, $53 million extension with $43 million in guaranteed money. The deal itself may look like a bargain when held in relation to Joe Flacco's 6 year, $120.6 million deal -- but the guaranteed money makes Stafford's deal better. Now the Panthers will wait for Cam Newton's extension to arrive.

It's an obvious sign and trade for Alex Smith.
|
and all of these are going to pale in comparison to what Kaep is going to get.

Turnover machine. Rather have Smith.
|
I hope that goes well for the Lions

paying that much money means they don't have enough to go around to fill out team to make super bowl |

sweet. we can trade for him in 6 years.
|
That is a lot of money for guy who really only has had one good season
|
He threw 727 passes last year with only 20 TDs. How is that even possible?

ChiefsPlanet: Where 5000 yard passing QBs are pilloried whilst the detractors' own team has a QB who averages less than 200 YPG.

this guy has 12,000 yards and 80 touchdowns in 4 seasons and our noodle dick QB has 14,000 yards and 81 touchdowns in 7 seasons and you guys are going to shit on him/down play him compared to the brokedick we have?

It's the best one the Lions ever had and he would be one of the best if not the best the Chiefs would ever have if he was on this team too. |

I saw the exact number a few days ago - I think it was 7 times that Megatron was either brought down or went OOB at the 1 yard line, and another 5-6 times inside the 5. Can't speak to other WR's/players, but that's some fluky bad luck. |
can we trade an excess fullback for him?
|
I'd still take him over Smith. At THAT price.

Yes, I DO say.

Jesus I'd love to have him on this team.

I'd take him in a heartbeat and even at that price. With the shortage of even ABOVE AVERAGE QBs in this league you gotta put if not a strangle hold, a leash, on your guy for the possibilty that he may get to that franchise caliber level. His mechanics are correctable and his talent is undeniable. No brainer.

I don't know, his first name is Matt.
|
You idiots. What's their other option? Release Matt Stafford?
|
I wonder how good Stafford would be with Saunders or Norv as his OC.
|
Not that Linehan is bad and I like his incorporation of tighter splits/alignments, I just don't think he's close to the other 2 as a playcaller
|
Stafford would be considered a hell of a lot better if he kept the same OC and didn't have complete stooges like Schwartz and Cunningham filling out the two other spots.

Linehan is probably due for a promotion then |
