KC vs. Denver Crowds. According to Coach Mora

Mora's answer to a question during his press conference where he compares Denver's crowd versus KC's crowd

Mora: "You know what? Our team was really calm yesterday. In the locker room before the game, in pre-game warm-ups, even on the sideline when we got down, things were calm. No one panicked. It felt different in Kansas City. Kansas City’s crowd is amazing and you felt it. You felt it. It’s like I talk about our Dome…you want it to be a suffocating feeling. You felt that at Kansas City. At Denver yesterday…you just didn’t feel it. You didn’t feel the heat, you didn’t feel the emotion, you didn’t feel the crowd, so we didn’t get worked up. We kind of just kept playing and we felt like our offense was moving the ball and they continued to move the ball, so we felt like we’d get back in it. And we did. But I think, honest to goodness, a lot of it has to do with the crowd. It’s a big difference between Kansas City and Denver. Big difference. Big. Big difference between Kansas City and most places. We want to be talking about Atlanta like I’m talking about Kansas City and I think we’re on our way."

Of course I wasted no time rubbing this quote in the donks faces:

Was there ever a doubt in your mind?

Yeah it used to get loud in Mile High but Invesco's never been the same. Chiefs fans kick major ass. We are the best. Too bad our damned teams never take advantage of it in January... :cuss:

Meck77 will surely be lambasting you.

I've been informed that KC has nothing on Denver's crowd and The Barbi Dream bus Tailgate.

I am starting to really like Mora. For a 1st yr head coach he tells it like it is.

How about this quote about the hit that landed Lynch out:

"That's good. That's fine. They had one last week that a lot of people in the league thought was cheap, so I guess what goes around comes around."

that just made my day

I like Mora too. Living in Atlanta he handles the sorry media there very well. They are always trying to dig up a scandal, and he pretty much pisses on the fire every time they try to start one.

It's nice to have a coach acknowledge that the crowd is awesome. It makes all those sore throats the two days after games feel worth while :). I finally figured out that if I eat 2 bags of Ricolas during the game I will still be able to talk the next day.

Wow, they're in full whine mode...

BigRedChief 11-02-2004 10:47 AM

you aint kidding. talking about how they beat us the first of the year etc... I posted this last.

It's not a Chiefs fan opinion. It's one coaches view of our different crowd enviorments. If you as a bronco fan don't like it? Talk to Coach Mora. Not my words. Where in the quote is he talking about on the field performance. He's talking about how the fans passion for their teams is viewed by others in the NFL. And guess what.... as a fan base and on game day We Rock and Roll Baby!

Mora is right. I wonder, is he "positioning" himself for future consideration in KC?

They feel disenfranchised. They just don't know it yet.

My post must have brought down the mange? Taken down by the team for their fans being a total embarassment.
