MORT just said that Law is on his way to KC tonight...

go carl go!

HolmeZz 03-02-2005 05:08 PM

Carl's in Atlanta. How many times must we say this? ;)

Didn't they already meet after he was released? Also, I thought Law said he wasn't entertaining offers until May when he was fully healed? I really hope we don't get antsy and sign Law over Rolle at this point.

It's a risk, but damn if he gets healthy then our defense has completely turned around.

Sure-Oz 03-02-2005 05:09 PM

WOw, the radio said that the chiefs likely woudn't bother looking at him till he was on his feet, interesting.

The Surtain deal dead maybe?

HolmeZz 03-02-2005 05:10 PM

I think the Surtain deal hinges on how much we spend/will spend on Trotter and what Law's asking price is.

This may also be a motivator for the Dolphins to get a deal done. From what I understand the Chiefs are the only suitor for Surtain right now and they want to unload him in a big way.

I had heard that the Colts were after him too, but that they couldn't get him with a second rounder (because ours is higher) and they didn't want to give their first.

Read that over on the dolphins board, don't remember what the source was, take it with a grain.

We can't sign Law....he's been injured and all he cares about is money.

tyton75 03-02-2005 05:52 PM

I wonder if he would take an big contract, but it would only be big based on incentives.. with a minimum base salary.. that would be the only way I think the Chiefs would sign him at this time.. until he can pass a physical

Actually I just read a rumor that there might be an Edgerrin James/Surtain trade. I take that strictly as a rumor though.

I was listening to Florida sports radio online just a few minutes ago. Surtain's agent was on. He said the Colts were not one of the teams trying to trade for Surtain right now.

He then gave the radio guys five guesses on who was seriously interested. First guess was Chiefs, answer was yes. Next was Cowboys, answer was yes. Next was Skins, answer no. Jets, no. The last one was Green Bay and the agent wouldn't answer.

There was a thread over on finheaven with a link to the online feed of the station:

Agent also said that all the offers right now were draft picks, not players.

No problem.

Also I forgot that the Redskins was no was qualified with that the Skins aren't going to do anything until everything with Smoot is settled.

BigRedChief 03-02-2005 09:35 PM

guys if Law signs you know that it will be incentive ladden. Any NFL team is going to protect itself. You play the way you were before the injury heres 15 mil. Half the man you use to be? Here's 5 mil. Something along those lines.
