Time to eat the crow..

Dearl Carl,

For months I have ripped you a new one. I went from being a self-described homer to an angry pessmimist in just 2 short years and I blamed you for it. I blamed your inability to sign quality FAs, get players to upgrade a defense, your horrible drafts and the fact that you haven't won a playoff game in 12 years.

But today, I will take back two of the things I said. I didn't think you could get a Surtain deal done because of your ego.

I'm happy to admit I was wrong.

It's been roughly 12 hours since I last bashed you and unless you draft a TE, guard, running back of DT in the first round tomorrow, I won't bash you again this year, but please win a playoff game.

When I woke up today, I honestly didn't expect a deal to get done. I didn't expect to see Len Passthepasta, Clark Judge, or any other internet reporters say a deal was done.

Tomorrow I will go to the draft with smiles, hopes, and my custom made (with masking tape) #23 Patrick Surtain jersey. It's been a long time that we've had someone good in our secondary.

Now our defense has a chance.

Thank you Carl.

Signed,

Frank
former leader of the anti-Carl Peterson clan.

I'm still going into the draft fully expecting to say "what the fuck?!" shortly after I hear "And with the 27th pick, the Kansas City Chiefs select".

He doesn't care.

You're not a real fan.

;)

I was wrong. CP seems to have made it happen.

Good job, Carl. Now please don't draft Marcus Spears.

NO doubt, but we have done what I desired in free agency so I can live with whatever blunder occurs on day 1 of the draft. Still would be nice to get a FA OLB.

Saulbadguy 04-22-2005 09:44 AM

At this point, I could care less who we draft.

keg in kc 04-22-2005 09:45 AM

I'm so giddy right now I'd be fine with drafting a receiver first.

I fully expect that to happen (and really wouldn't be that adverse to it).

Logical 04-22-2005 09:50 AM

If we would sign a FA OLB I would absolutely be in favor of the Chiefs signing Mark Clayton.

I'm not joking, but I do agree we could still use more defensive help. I'm just saying, I won't be upset with any pick..except perhaps an offensive lineman, in the 1st round.

I really wanted Ian Gold. If we'd signed him, I'd love to have Clayton.

Me to, I hope we go that way.

bricks 04-22-2005 09:56 AM

oh ok...so your saying you don't mind if we draft any position on defense, as long as it helps our team? and, as long as we don't draft an offensive lineman.
That i agree with.
