Best place to get cheap ram?

I need to upgrade from 512 and wanted to know what sites were the best place to get cheap ram?

Any help is appreciated.

If you need 512 of PC2700, I have one to spare. Got a deal after X-mas and bought two because I had two remaining open slots. Only it turns out that my 2 and 3 slot share a bus and will only accept single sided memory [if both slots are used]. So it's only been out of the box long enough to see that I couldn't put DIMMs in both slots and still have the machine boot up. But since I opened it, and had already sent off the UPC for rebate, I couldn't return it. Feel free to come up with a figure and see if I can't beat it.

Here is what I got off Dell's website

Quote:

1 GB DDR SDRAM, PC3200 / 400 MHz, Non-Parity, Unbuffered
There's no way I'm paying 180 though. Because they only have 2 slots on my PC, i have to replace the 2 256's in there now so I'm going to need 2 512's.

Baby, can my system use the ram you have? I'm not real familiar with this - as you can tell.

Thanks in advance.

Newegg.com is cheapest.

Do you have DDR RAM? If so, what speed? You can download sisoft sandra to tell you:

I do have DDR Ram.

I went on Newegg and put in what I needed, but nothing came up.

What application do I download on the link above?

Does this tell you what I need:

Quote:

DDR SDRAM, PC3200 / 400 MHz, Non-Parity, Unbuffered
Thanks Go.

If your system calls for PC3200, it'll be compatible with the PC2700, just not at the highest possible speed. It's the next previous bus speed. They are physically identical. PC3200 is 400 MHz bus, data transfer at 3.2 Gigabits per second. PC2700 is 333 MHz bus, 2.7 Gigabits per second.
Oh, and case it makes a difference, it is Kingston branded, not generic.

MacMall/PcMall.com is also a good place...

I ordered the Patriot 1 gig of ram off Newegg late Monday night and it arrived this afternoon.

That is fast as hell service for 4 dollars shipping.
