I was going to post the exact same thing. Good thing I read before I posted.

As a science teacher, I totally believe in life on other planets. There are about 250,000,000,000 stars in our galaxy alone. There are billions of galaxies in the universe...some of them big enough to contain 1 trillion stars. The odds are pretty good that intelligent life exists somewhere out there.

Yeah, but we've only been looking for one-billionth of the age of the universe and we've only looked in one-trillionth of the places in the universe. That's like looking around your house and saying that elephants don't exist.
