NBA Playoffs and value betting

I really like the Lakers at +300 against the Suns. I might also consider betting the Lakers and the Queens at +2500 each to win the West. Lakers have gone 11/14 at the end of the season and the Queens have went 9/11. I don't know, feedback?

Who would have thought the Clippers would be favored in a playoff series? I am a big Clips fan and I am going to game one. I would probably put my $$ on the Nugs in this series, as LA is limping into the postseason.

I don't like any of the other series props except for the Lakers. Always fun going to Staples. You guys have the next UFC matches there. Probably be the biggest MMA event in the countries history. Currently the biggest one was the matches held in the Sharktank.

Bump, just in case there is someone here on the morning shift that may be following the NBA.

I guarantee you I am the biggest Laker fan on this board, hands down. Like Kobe should be MVP, HANDS DOWN!!!!!!

Sully 04-21-2006 09:43 AM

I don't think he'd be that good if he kept his hands down.

Funny, everyone on the team is having career seasons. Sounds like you're just a Kobe hater. He won't get MVP just based on the fact that some writers don't like him. Call it the Barry Bonds effect. Nash is good and should receive consideration. Dirk doesn't play D so he shouldn't get any consideration IMO. Billups was on the other day pimping himself for the MVP. When asked who should be 2nd he said Kobe or Lebron. It will probably come down to Lebron or Nash. Both are deserving but it seems to me the MVP has become a popularity contest with an east coast bias. They were making a joke about it the other day saying that when Wilt averaged 50 points and 26 rebounds a game for an entire season he didn't even get MVP.

I see value in a +300 payout going with the Lakers for the series. Apparently not many people think they have a chance against the Suns. Jackson has never lost in the first round of the playoffs. I am counting on coaching to get us through.

Psyko Tek 04-21-2006 12:06 PM

the reason they are all having career seasons is they never had careeres before
everybody doubles Kobe and freees tham up

as far as Jackson goes how many playoff series has he won with out Jordan or Shaq

I'don't know, that's an honest question

Come on, you can't be serious. How many championships do Jordon and Shaq have without Phil? Phil is the best coach in NBA history and when he eventually takes this team to their next champioship health permitting nobody will question that again.

Are you really being serious or are you just another Laker hater?

Psyko Tek 04-21-2006 12:26 PM

Jordan in his prime, only played for Phil, right?

Shaq and Kobe were a lethal combo when their panties weren't inna bunch

I see jackson as cheery picking jobs where the guys where already there to win

but with his return to LA I think he wants to prove something

and yeah I do think Kobe is a whiny deuche, but he may mature out of it

Better than Auerbach? Riley?

I like Riley BIG TIME but yes I think Phil is better. Auerbach will always be who he is compared to. If he takes this team to another championship I think people will see him as having been the best.

Show me just one of the top all time winningest coaches in any sport who did it with bad players. Come on dude. Lakers under Phil have done it under the cap. OTher teams spent a lot more money.

Lakers will free up a ton of cap room over the next two years. That combined with the possibility of this Bynum kid potentially being something really special in this league is promising.
