Nothing to be scared of it's not as bad as people make it out to be.

I got my passenger side tires slashed at a JCHS football game last fall. Parked right in the parking lot behind the south stands. Not something I particularly appreciated. But come to think of it, I've never had a good experience in that city. I'm sure if you grew up there, though, it's different.

You're not from Manhattan are you? ROFL

I was on tour with a performing group a couple years back, and JC was one of around 10 stops we made. The audience there was BY FAR the rudest we encountered. Leaves a pretty lasting impression. So, glad you're happy, but I'd be just as scared as leviw.

I go to school in Manhattan, but my car tags aren't Riley Co. They were playing a Wichita school that night, and my tags aren't Sedgwick Co. or any in that vacinity, either. Just some thugs, probably.

Likely Huggins recruits. Kidding. JC is Asbury recruiting territory.

Probably but you get that everywhere.

I disagree. I've never gotten that before, and I've been a lot of places.

Junction City? I'd make them throw in a flack jacket if you get the job. Good luck.

Don't need it cause it's not as bad as people think. I've been a lot worse places so quit hatin on JC.

BigMeatballDave 05-01-2006 10:03 AM

I lived in Junction City for a short time. This was back in the late 70's.

I used to date a girl from JC when I lived in MHK..... Man I hated going to that town and doing anything in public. 95% of the people in that town have no respect for other human beings. And I hate to say it, but most of it is due to the Riley GIs. No offense to those who serve, or have served in the Army, but all but a handful of the GIs I've met from JC have been testosterone charged arrogant idiots.

dtrain, congrats on the job though! Sorry to post another negative remark about your home town, but that's the honest take I got from the town....

I think that's probably the consensus. I have a ton of respect for the GIs and what they do for our country, but at the same time, from my experiences, they're contributions to society as a whole is lacking. Though I do find humor in their shameless attempts to pick up on girls at the Manhattan mall. And I do mean shameless.

I can agree about the soldiers that's why I was a Marine! Thanks. Would be nice to be surrounded by Chiefs Red again instead of Faider Black.
