What a dumb idea for a poll. Who told you to do this anyway?

I'll say the AFC South. Why? One word: Matt Jones. Best reciever ever. Period.

Here's my thinking:

Elite receivers (5 points):
Strong receivers (3.5 points):
High-Pedigree receivers that I don't know much about yet, but will give the benefit of the doubt: (3 points)
Decent receivers (2.5 points):
Subpar receivers/Low-pedigree receivers I don't know much about yet (1 point):

AFC East:

Bills: Lee Evans 3, Roscoe Parrish 1
Jets: Laveranues Coles 3.5, Justin McCareins 2.5
Dolphins: Chris Chambers 3.5, Marty Booker 2.5
Patriots: Deion Branch 3.5, Reche Caldwell 1

Total: 20.5 points

AFC North:

Ravens: Mark Clayton 3, Derrick Mason 3.5
Browns: Braylon Edwards 3, Jurivicius 2.5
Bengals: Chad Johnson 5, TJ Houshmandzadeh 2.5
Steelers: Hines Ward 5, Cedrick Wilson 1

Total: 25.5 points

AFC South:

Texans: Eric Moulds 3.5, Andre Johnson 5
Colts: Harrison 5, Wayne 3.5
Jaguars: Matt Jones 3, Ernest Wilford 1
Titans: Drew Bennett 2.5, David Givens 2.5

Total: 26 points

AFC West:

Denver: Smith 2.5, Walker 3
KC: Kennison 2.5, Parker 1
Oakland: Moss 5, Porter 2.5
San Diego: McCardell 2.5, Eric Parker 1

Total: 20 points

NFC East:

Cowboys: Terrell Owens 5, Terry Glenn 2.5
Giants: Burress 3.5, Toomer 2.5
Eagles: Todd Pinkston 1, Reggie Brown 1
Redskins: Santana Moss 5, Brandon Lloyd 2.5

Total: 23 points

NFC North

Bears: Muhsin Muhammad 2.5, Mark Bradley 1
Lions: Roy Williams 3, Scott Vines 1
Packers: Robert Ferguson 1, Donald Driver 3.5
Vikings: Koren Robinson 2.5, Travis Taylor 1

Total: 15.5 points

NFC South

Falcons: Roddy White 3, Michael Jenkins 3
Saints: Horn 5, Donte Stallworth 2.5
Buccaneers: Michael Clayton 3, Joey Galloway 2.5
Panthers: Steve Smith 5, Keyshawn Johnson 2.5

Total: 26.5 points

NFC West

Cardinals - Boldin 3.5, Fitzgerald 3.5 (Both could be 5's)
Seahawks - Jackson 2.5, Nate Burleson 1
Rams - Holt 5, Bruce 3.5
49ers - Antonio Bryant 1, Arnaz Battle 1

Total: 21 points

IMO its down to the AFCW and NFCS

NFCW:
Bruce
Holt
Boldin
Fitzgerald
Jackson
Burelson

AFCW:
R.Smith
Walker
Moss
Porter
McCardell
Kennison
Gates
Gonzalez

Only in this case can you put these 2 TEs in the Wr category.

Since every one is on the NFC East bandwagon, let me throw some rocks at these guys. In general they are a pretty inconsistent group. Only Owens has recently put together back to back 1000 yard seasons. Moss and Burress are outstanding talents entering their prime years; they should be great, but I'll wait for them to demonstrate it.

Owens: Very special talent, but a head case. Terry Glenn: talented, but very inconsistent. Probably won't crack 1000 yds with Owens now competing for balls. Also getting up there in age.

Burress: has very good tools and entering his prime. Toomer: has really fallen off the last two years, and at 32 must be considered in decline.

Pinkston and Brown are maybe the worst starting duo in the league.

S. Moss: Great year last year and entering the prime of his career. Needs to show consistency to be considered elite. Brandon Lloyd: Still seeking breakout year in his fourth season. More promise than delivery.

It was a special request from the Make-A-Wish Foundation for a child in Virginia.

More like West Virginia (I don't know what that means).

Todd Pinkston

That is all...
