Simple question.

I'm just curious how representative this place is, compared with mainstream America on the question. A few threads of late, just got me wondering....:hmmm:

Please feel free to discuss.

I feel sorry for people who think this is all there is and don't believe there is a creator.

I wanna believe but have doubts.

The Buddhist in me says I don't know and I'm more than Ok with that. You can't put your finger on the past or the future so why sweat what doesn't exist?

That option does not preclude believing in a Creator or an afterlife, it only says a person does not believe in the Bible as the absolute word of God.

Do you believe in God out of love? I doubt seriously you fall in this category, but so many Christians I know do it because they're afraid of being wrong.

If all religions are right then everyone is screwed anyway.

I feel sorry for people that live their life as if they get a second chance to live their life the way they really want to live it. Wow, that's a mouth full.

It isn't very Christian to behave only because you think you're getting something in the end. :D

I do, but if we keep having the same thread over and over I might start doubting.

To me pure logic and reasoning would lead to conclude that there has to be a higher power.


To think this all just came about at random? No way.

I said "other myths".... deists, would fall into one of the first two categories, IMO.

God = Creator

Because in no way did I intend to limit "God" to a Christian, Jewish, or Muslim God...so I guess, technically, I shoulda made it "god" I suppose.

Sorry. Guess I missed the recent ones......the make-up of the place seems to be shifting. Hence my curriosity. I could be wrong though.

I'm a believer, my brother is an atheist. I told him that I'd rather believe what I believe and be wrong, than believe what he does and be wrong.

I'm not saying it has to have a point; but it sure helps explain a helluva lot that goes on, IMHO.

OTOH, I sure hope most who believe do so for other reasons as well. :shrug:

You don't think an omniscient being can sort through folks who only believe out of fear from being wrong?
