MP3 Player that will play iTune Files?
 

I know this will be moved eventually....

But, hey, I've got some iTunes on my PC; and am finally getting an MP3 player....but think I'm not going to go with iPod....

So, is there an MP3 player that will play iTune files, or a reliable and efficient "conversion" program that I can use to convert my iTune files....or am I screwed? :shrug:

I was under the impression that iTunes played mp3s.

You mean you bought some from the iTunes Music Store?

If so, just burn them to a CD and import them into whatever program you're going to use.

iTunes is still the best choice, though.

Doesn't itunes convert them to aac or wma or some other file type?

It's easier just to burn the AAC files to CD, then rip them back off as MP3. Then save the CDs as your backups so when your drive pukes, you don't lose everything.

Bob Dole hasn't played with it for awhile, but it seems like iTunes could convert them to MP3...

I'm wondering if something less expensive, just MP3.....not iPod is the way to go though.....

I LIKE iTunes a lot....but going back, I'm finding some music "not available" or not listed under iTunes....but they are accessible, for example, through Rhapsody.....:hmmm:

Itunes won't convert Itunes store purchases to Mp3 though.

I think you should look into pirating music.

If "yes," I'm set with iTunes; cause I like the service...despite the "sellout" and "making iPod rich" denigration.

Nah. I'm willing to pay for it.... some is available MP3, that's not available iPod....and that's the dilemma.

Yeah, but Rhapsody sucks. You only rent the music. You don't own it.

The only way to convert a song purchased from Itunes to MP3 is to burn it to audio Cd and then rip it to MP3 manually. Itunes will do that but it is an extra step you have to take.

Once on your MP3, don't you own it....regardless of what the lawyer-jerkoffs say? :hmmm:

Nope. At the end of the month the music tags on it need confirmation from the service to continue to play. You need a player with subscription capability to even use that service.
