Wesley vs Page

Why is greg wesley still playing?

all page does is make plays, while wesley doesn't do a damn thing except push people out of bounds.

why don't we play the young guys?

pollard has made enough plays to warrant some time too, since the season is over.

It seemed like Page and Wesley were on the field at the same time. I would like to see Pollard get some playing time as well.

i bet the coaches are just riding the season out with the current starters... page and pollard will have another minicamp and preseason to get ready. they start next year, no question.

Page has been amazing-a sack and a INT tonight. He is the new Raider killer.

in a radio interview a few weeks back, he was talkin about growing up near oakland... and he made it a definate point to mention that he never like the raiders. KILLEM PBJ

Herm said in the postgame that Page is close to starting. Translation: He will start next year.

ChiefFan31 12-23-2006 10:54 PM

It was really nice watching Page making plays. He is improving and looking good. Gives me hope that we, for the first time in years, have a great shot at seeing good safety play next year.

Halfcan 12-23-2006 11:00 PM

Am I the only one the thinks Page plays like a young and agressive Deron Cherry. On that INt tonight- I could have sweared I was watching Cherry back there, not falling for the fakes, baiting the QB, then making a tremendously athletic play.

We need Pollard to step up too.

Based on playing time, it looks like Herm rates our S as:

Wesley
Page
Knight
Pollard.

Now Page might actually be ahead of Welsey, but Herm doesn't want to leave Wesley out of the rotation because he is so much better than Knight (due to speed) and Pollard (due to experinece). If Pollard can pass Kinght and close the gap on Wesley, we might acutally get an improvement in safety play.

the will trade Wesley for a cadavar
with the same blood type as Bennett

We have to be protecting him. He must have just been blowing coverages in practice left and right early on. We are grooming him to combo with Page as next year's tandem. At least that is what I'm hoping.

BUT, that has to be the reason he is not seeing the field this year. He is more raw that most people thought. He was all the rave in TC for play making and hitting ability.

It was mentioned in an article a couple of weks ago that the Chiefs might be looking to convert Pollard to LB.

Yeah, I did see that and it concerns me. I hope that is not the case. We need Safety help worse. Especially in our cover two system.

I may be wrong, but I don't think this sounds like good news. Burn out at one position, hope to salvage a #2 pick at another position.

Exactly. That is what it would mean. Also, that we fell in love with a guy for his big hitting ability and "potential".

Then I look at the Chargers second round pick, and they look to have drafted a LT that could anchor that spot for the next decade. How bad do we need that. It also shows how important the draft is.
