Observations from Super Bowl XXIII (or maybe XXIV).

I'm doing a little work and the TV is showing the Super Bowl between the 49ers and the Bengals back in the 80s. A few observations:

1. Tim Krumrie's leg fell off partway through the first quarter, but he is refusing to go to the hospital. He's watching the game, and I think a trainer has his lower leg in a box with ice. They didn't show the injury, I don't think, but I'm not watching that closely.

2. Ronnie Lott hits like a truck.

3. Bill Romanowski just got an interception, but I can't tell if he's on drugs or not. He's a rookie, so the announcers don't know yet that he's a piece of garbage.

4. Chris Collinsworth is not as skinny as he is today, but he's still pretty skinny. He fell down making a catch and got hurt even though no one was around.

5. Jim Breech, the Bengals' kicker, wears a Size 5 right shoe and a Size 7 left shoe. The announcers mentioned that he wears the smallest shoe in the league.

6. I keep looking for John Candy, but I don't see him.

7. I blame Jack Steadman for the fact that I'm not watching a Chiefs game right now.

I'd only disagree with one point... # 2.

Ronnie Lott hit like a Bullet Train at speed...

on a side note after seeing Romanowski on pros verses joes he is absolutely the worst excuse for a professional athlete ever the joes ran over around and through him like he was a jv water boy.

I'm watching too.

Wow, Someone else remember the story about Montana mentioning in the huddle that Candy is on the sidelines before the final drive too.

The Niners could have lost this game easily. The Bengals didn't come thru on several opportunities for dropped INT's and fumbles.

Rice had a MONSTER game. 11 rec 215 yards. Both SB records

The feild was really tore up, last SB that I remember feild conditions being that poor. With tomorrow's game in south Florida and a 40% chance of rain now wonder if we will see similar conditions.

Brooks was a much better running back than Ickey Woods.

What story?

Rain Man 02-03-2007 05:45 PM

Montana has three minutes to score. He's turning into a machine now.

I liked David Fulcher, but he just took kind of a cheap shot at Roger Craig.

Must've told him six months ago that they would be doing random drug testing.

Montana just went 8 for 9 and led the 49ers on a 92-yard touchdown drive to win the Super Bowl. I think he's going to be the next Tom Brady.

Greatest drive in SB history. Joe ruled. :thumb:
