Sportcenter tonight reviewed their top 5 best melt-down/rant press conferences (in honor of Colorado football's coach's recent meltdown).

5. Bobby Knight - "I'm not leaving Indiana" rant
4. Herman Edward "you play to win the game"
3. Dennis Green - "The bears are who we thought they were"
2. Allen Iverson - "we talkin' bout practice"
1. Jim Mora - "PLAYOFFS!!! PLAYOFFS????"

not a bad list....but they had one glaring omission that belonged in the top 5...

I honestly think that not having reporters would be a good thing.

Most of the time the questions are complete BS.

exactly, they are button pushers, the coach/player can answer a question and someone else will ask the same question in a different way, they try to lead the answers for their own puposes.

make a general list of generic questions that could apply if the team wins or looses. The coach answers them to a blue screen and goes away, time effecient, no large group of people, they all get the info at the same time and present it in their medium how they see fit.

McRae did not have fun that day. Nor for the whole year. Sad stuff.

Can you believe they're actually trained to ask those questions? Most of them don't have the sack to ask a tough question - which is why I respect the ones who do.
