**** You Thomas Edison, Tesla was the real Genius

I just finished watching "The Prestige" and it reignited my disdain for Thomas Edison.

Sure, he gave us the lightbulb, but Tesla gave us Alternate Current[AC]

Tesla also set up a system that gave us all free electricity, but it was thwarted and his funds were dried up by JP Morgan, and his lab destroyed... can't be giving away shit for free.

Edison was an insecure prick and most people don't realize this, because the history books were written by those who he was in favor with.

Tesla got hosed.

Just curious, is this the first you've heard about Nikola Tesla?

teedubya 03-06-2007 07:21 AM

of course not.

hence the "...and it reignited my disdain for Thomas Edison."

I have many books and videos on Tesla... but I dont recall having ever seen a thread about the subject.

George: It's like I'm Neil Armstrong. I turn around for a sip of Tang and you jump out first.

You probably think Elisha Gray invented the telephone.

I think Tesla was a very good and underrated 80s band.

Yes, and now look what you've gotten for your troubles, countless "80s rock band named Tesla" posts, LOL!

Was Tesla, Oklahoma named after him?

Saulbadguy 03-06-2007 07:47 AM

The Tesla Coil was a great weapon in Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

Edison was hard working, and diligent and brilliant man. However, his ego got in the way of him becoming truly great.

In the end, he got his glory, but he harmed many in the process.
