Sports contracts. Imagine Ryan Sims killing someone.

Could a team just rip up that contract? Are there any legal loopholes where the thing can be voided ?

Could you imagine the players union defending a players contract if he kills someone ?

Just thinking of that time the St.Louis D-end drove drunk and killed some lady. He was good player but what would happen to an overrated player?

I know what to do with a body if that's what you're asking.

Nope, teams are legally bound to employ murderers. They have to pay the player if he's in jail. Double the salary if its a federal penitentiary.

STL DE Leonard Little is the biggest piece of shit in all of the NFL. Drove drunk, killed a woman in the process, then got another DWI a couple years later. Sad thing is the Husband of that woman he killed is a gameday photographer for the Rams. In other words he has to watch the person that killed his wife, play a game he loves for millions of dollars. This mother****er committed 1st degree Manslaughter and doesn't even deserve the right to his own freedom. ****ing celebrity/athlete special treatment at it's worst.

What? Did he finally eat the guy behind the counter at Dunkin' Donuts?

Stinger 03-07-2007 01:12 PM

You do relize that for Sims to kill someone he would actually have to move and and get penitratation so there is no worry that will happen.

Everyday Chiefs fans die a little inside because of Sims.

Jelly Dalton was on the Texan's roster last season. Thought maybe he got eaten

On a related note, I've often wondered if a baseball team (say the Royals) could terminate the contract and sue for damages of a player that lied about his age (Angel Berroa).

Age is key in predicting future performance of a prospect. a 19-year old kid and 24-year old putting up great numbers in AA are totally different.

I am no lawyer, but I cannot believe the Royals couldn't terminate his contract unless there was something in the collective bargaining agreement preventing it.

Can I imagine someone killing Ryan Sims instead? How about retroactively to the day before we drafted him?
