2007 Character risks in the NFL draft
It's SI but it still points out some things worth reading.

Thomas is a talent. Maybe he'll fall hard and fast...
|
You like him, eh? Think he will fall to 23? I didn't realize he had been dismissed altogether - how many games did he miss?
|
Saw that yesterday. I think it's a stretch to put Merriweather on that list. So he has a licensed firearm, that's in the founding father's bill of rights. If some gang of thugs shoots my friend, damn right I'm exercising my rights too!!
And regarding Eric Wright, our HC personally went to meet him. He's a fine prospect, and I'll have to trust Herm's judgement on the kids character. |
I always suspected DT was the hardest position to play physically and emotionally. You're facing the heart of the OL, you usually don't get to even sniff the QB on passing downs, and you're usually being double-teamed on rushing downs. You don't really go anywhere on the football field other than that 20'-by-20' box, and you can be a good player on a football field and never have the stats to reflect it.
I think that opinion's been solidified as I see a very high percentage of DTs with character issues. |

The fall I was referring to was to the late 3rd or even the 2nd day. |
Thomas' doesn't deserve to go in the top 60 players because of his bone-headed decisions. Coaches will take that into consideration, especially when millions of dollars could be at stake. Thomas is falling fast.
