Cowboys may release guard
Posted: Friday May 11, 2007 08:32AM ET
Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said he wanted to meet with guard Marco Rivera before making a decision. Rivera, the starting right guard the last two years, would count about $1.2 million against the salary cap if he is cut.

In all reality, he'd probably be fighting Chris Bober for the backup guard position.

At this point, I don't know if he's an answer, but I'd welcome the competition this point in the offseason. Bring the guy in, have him compete with Bober, Welbourne, and Taylor. If it doesn't work out, cut his ass.

However, he's 35? 36? Complete opposite of what Herm wants.

When it comes to our offensive line, hell, ANYBODY is worth a look. :banghead:

Nah, the point this year is to get younger, not older. Pass.

I dunno, the way i've always understood it is that he was a disappointment down there from day 1, couldnt re-capture his Green Bay form.

True, but at some point the point needs to be about keeping our quarterbacks both alive and in one functional piece.

I think people are over blowing the oline problems in KC. We need a RT and a Center and thats it. I'm pretty happy with Brian Waters and Welbourn at Gaurd.

In all honesty, anything that gets Bober off this team is a good move at this point. No way he should ever see the playing field in the NFL again.
