KU's coach leaving for NBA?

The latest wild rumor has Kansas coach Bill Self becoming the Seattle SuperSonics' head coach and R.C. Buford leaving the successful Spurs to take over as the club's GM. All predicated on the Sonics actually moving to Oklahoma City, as talks have suggested.


This is just a rumor, but take it for what it's worth. I know I wouldn't mind if this happened.

That rumor is about three days old and Self said he has no desire to coach in the NBA.

They will not move to OKC so no chance of this.

Self has already said this is monkey business ....... This is a non issue.

I don't think I would like that. Who would be a viable replacement?

Why would anyone want to wreck your career by going to the NBA? Money? God who would want the headache of the NBA?

Maybe not this year. Another rumor is that Bill's wife, Cindy, can't stand Lawrence, however, their daughter will be a HS Senior this fall, so while he could move on she would probably want to graduate with the kids she being going thru high school with. I'm not anticipating to make any career moves now, but a year from now when his daughter is getting out of high school if the rumors about Cindy are true the I expect Coach Self to move on.

Self struggles to motivate McDonald's All-Americans ... how would he do with all the spoiled millionaire assholes in the NBA?

No recruiting, Self's strong suit, to do in the NBA.
