Have you ever looked at LT's stats?

27 years old with 100TD's and after this season he'll have over 10,000 yards. He's way under 30. He will break yards and td records for all RB's. Good bye Emmit.

Damn he's a bad ass.

Simplex3 05-15-2007 06:48 AM

Glad to see Emmitt go down so fast.

Micjones 05-15-2007 07:46 AM

Add about 3,000 yards receiving and 11 receiving TD's and you're looking at a guy who's on his way to Canton.

Hound333 05-15-2007 07:48 AM

I think he's not on his way. I think the bust is being made already and just waiting for him to retire and become eligible. He's already there if he stops playing today.

He'll be in there anyways even if he quit today.

If he goes another 6 years like his first 6, we'll have all been fortunate enough to see the best running back in the history of the game. The whole 'plays for a rival' part, sucks, but he is what he is, and for probably 75% of his career so far, he's done it with shit for an o-line, up until the last year and a half or so.

The Chargers were idiots. They traded away the opportunity to draft the only legitimate Superstar in that draft, Michael Vick. What did they get in return?

Thankfully, we have someone like Carl Peterson running our front office.

Bob Dole 05-15-2007 08:05 AM

Sandy Eggo should trade him now. Everyone knows a back can't keep up that kind of pace. He's already shot his wad in this league and it's nothing but downhill from here.

If LT played for Oakland or Denver, it would be different. It's hard to Hate San Diego, even though they are a division rival. I've never heard anyone go on a rant about how SD plays dirty, has a crappy owner, or any of the stuff that we love to hate about the "other two" teams in the division.

Redrum_69 05-15-2007 08:26 AM

Wont matter, LT will never have a championship ring, so he'll get passed on the ballot for the first five years he is eligible...or he'll wind up like Ricky Williams....or traded to another team for draft picks....

LT is just another Barry Sanders....his star-status burns bright for a few years...then dissappears into oblivion.

Hes just another Ki-Jana Carter....Curtis Enis....Errict Rhett.....the list goes on.

StcChief 05-15-2007 08:45 AM

No Doubt LT is an exceptional RB.... HOF likely a lock even if he tapers off.

I meant that in terms of watching him play against us twice a year, although, to our credit, we've probably been as good at neutralizing him as anyone.

And the longer they're competitive, the easier it is to hate them. The pity is gone, they're not the lovable, goofy little brother in the division anymore. The Raiders are trying to take that role.

I find I do dislike SD slightly less now that martyocre is gone. I got a bizarre enjoyment out of watching him spin his wheels year after year.

I think LT is good, but barry sanders called, he says you're wrong

Ebolapox 05-15-2007 09:04 AM

As long as Al Davis is in Oakland and Shanarat is in Denver, I'm going to hate both teams. The wounds like the 97 playoffs run pretty deep.

SD has no single player or defining moment that makes me hate them. They certainly are a better team with a brighter future than we are (at least, for the moment) but I've never yelled about how their players or coach are dirty, cheating bastards or how I hate their owner or anything like that.

You may be right, over time that might happen. But I don't have a problem losing with dignity if the team is just better. When you have Neil Smith taunting the audience after a playoff loss while the rest of the team is wiping vaseline off their uniforms, that breeds a lot of hate. SD, on the other hand seems like a classy organization.
