I can't help but wonder how this will affect the guy who hit the ball. I bet he has a hard time even getting in the batters box.

It is amazing to see the responses to this. Maybe they should wear the full face catcher's mask instead of a batting helmet.



To feel good only, no real protection

I don't recall seeing too many batters using the helmet that has both ear flaps. Haven't they gone away from that?

I've seen them wearing the ear flap on the side facing the pitcher. The first base coach could wear a right-handed helmet and the third base coach could wear a left-handed helmet.

I just thinks it's fallacious to say that a helmet wouldn't have saved him. In fact, it just might have, which is why they should start wearing them right now.
