What's the story on Wesley Murphy?
 

Turns out one of my students is his brother. He saw all my Chiefs memorabilia (from Trent) in my class and asked if I was a fan. I explained the situation, and he told me his brother (Wesley Murphy) plays for the Chiefs as a TE. He's not on the roster on kcchiefs.com, though. Is he practice team?

MONTEZ Murphy plays DE ...well, for a little longer anyway

Wes Murphy was a blocking tight end for Arkansas' killer run game. The Chiefs signed him as an UDFA, but let him go shortly thereafter.

He was a great runblocker, apparantly, but he had rocks for hands. He would have been more of a liability than anything.

Weird. The student indicated that his brother still plays for the Chiefs (though I knew he didn't actually play). I wonder if they keep people around on the practice squad who aren't officially on the team at this time of year?
