What to wear to Interview?
I know everyone wants to talk about the big win but could you guys offer a little help my way. I have a interview along with some written tests tomorrow with the Union Pacific for a job that includes welding and repairing. What would you guys wear to this? Khakis or jeans? Polo or a button up?

show some cleavage.

Khakis, polo shirt
a good tip is to dress one level above your expected job. I assume you will wear jeans and a denim shirt/tee shirt in the rail shop. |
Your Chiefs jersey.

Be sure to wear something you would feel comfortable doing the job in as well, I have heard some people not get jobs similar to this one because they were overdressed, as confusing as that is.

Just remember...
You don't get a 2nd chance to make a first impression. Morphius advise sounds reasonable.... |

I have always heard you should wear what you would to do the job. In this case, nice work shirt and levis with work boots would seem to be the attire to me. What if they want you to do some welding to show what you can do? Got to be ready to go to work IMO. |

If you don't have a a cert or something they may want you to do something on site. Either way once you pass you'll likely be on probation for a while, which varies from job to job. I would think communication and fit are the starting point |
I'm completely on board with dressing 1 level above what you would at work. If its a khaki and Polo job...at least wear a tie.
if you're taking a welding test....it doesn't make much sense to me to wear a tie for that. Its a good rule of thumb in business too....dress 1 level above your client-audience. |
Well it is for an Apprentice Freight Car Repairer. From what they have said it will be about 4 hours of their Skilled Craft Battery Test and if I pass I get an interview and be prepared to spend majority of your day there. I hope I dont get the shits.
