NFT: Need to buy a new washer...ideas?

I'm looking for at least a 3.5 capacity under 800 bucks, front loader. What brands to avoid? I've checked a couple of local stores plus Home Depot, Lowes and Sears so far, any other good places to try?

Thanks in advance for any good info.

If you get to a Lowe's between 6:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. they usually have a pretty good selection. The cost on them are very good. The model we picked up called "ultrajesus" is shown below. Good luck!

Is THAT the best you got? That's bad (as in NOT even a little funny) even for this place.

I am sorry, my mistake. The model we got was called "Ultrapepe", please accept my apology.

This bad boy will only set you back a few cents and it'll do the job just fine.

You will have difficulty finding a front loading washer for under 800. The cheapest (but lowest quality) are something like 700 and the nicer ones are around a grand.

If you want a quality washer for 800, pick up a Fisher and Paykel high efficiency top loading washer at Lowes.

LG WM1814C[W] consumer reports has this one for $700 rated excellent in every category except wash performance and noise, but noise get a fair grade. To compare, it's wash performance is the same if not better than any top loader of the $1000 range.

Oh, and it's overall rating is a 76 whereas the top performer scored a 83, and that one cost $1500.

Haha all you people negative repping me is funny. For every 1 negative rep I receive, i get about 5 positive reps!

I would recommend against a coal-powered one.

Find a Sears Outlet store. Get a washer with a scratch and or dent and save 40%. That's how I bought my Maytag Neptune for $750. 10 years later and it's still hummin away, doing a great job.

I did have to replace the motor driver board about a year ago, part cost me $100 on Ebay, and took about 20 minutes to replace.
