anybody see garth brooks?
i went to the concert at the sprint center (which is very nice until you sit down and realize you have about as much space as you did in elementry school) last night. they broadcast it live to theaters around the world, just wondering if anyone saw him while he was in town, or in the theater.

I heard he took a shit in his hand and threw it into the crowd, is that true?

I went on Friday. It was a pretty good show. I'm not really a country fan but I still enjoyed the show he put on.

I saw him Thursday night. Awesome show. I actually thought I had decent leg room and I am 6'4. My only complainent about the Sprint Center was they only had the two entrances and after the show it got funnelled into one tiny road outside the arena to get back to the parking lots.

where were your seats? i was in 219, which is the upper level "endzone" seats. very cramped. both width wise, and leg room. can't imagine seeing a game there with the guys. my girlfriend was too my right, and some drunk stranger to my left. my poor girlfriend had a HUGE women sitting on the other side of her and had to lean over closer to me the whole time we were sitting. i wear a size 13 shoe, and my toes were touching the seat in front of me the whole time, not much wiggle room. despite the confined seating conditions, my overall experience at the sprint center was very nice. employees were all super friendly, not the attitude you can get at arrowhead or kaufman. concourses were roomie, and there was a bathroom near EVERY section. advice to smokers, get your tix close to section 105, as the only "smoker's lounge" is right outside 105. |
we went and saw Avenue Q Sat night; so not Garth, but we tried to dine around the Sprint center. The awesome thing was how alive the city was, how we couldn't find a place to eat because everything was so full! I love seeing KC being rejuvenated like this.

i guess it was all the, um, extra weight around us. had a great view, and overall i was impressed with the sprint center. did it take you long to figure out what floor you needed to be on? that poor lady on the elevator, every time i got on, she was having to explain to people where they needed to go. i brought a smile to her face the second time i rode when i politely explained to the girl next to me if she was in the upper level, she needed floor 6, not 2. a mistake i made the first time i got on the elevator 10-15 minutes before. basically i acted like i knew what i was talking about, but just used the words the elevator attendant used when she explained it to me. she got a chuckle out of that.
its a very nice place, i look forward to seeing many events there in the future. |
Yeah I had smaller people around me that probally did make the difference. Actually we took the stairs so it wasnt that hard to figure out. I really liked our view though, even though we were behind him he walked around enough and we were actually closer than people in front of the stage.
|
oh, the view was great.
i would have taken the stairs, but my girlfriend was bitching that her boots hurt. we only took the stairs on the way out. did they hang a banner from the rafters during your show? |
