UPDATE, 12-5-07 at 11:50pm: The Dodgers have reached an agreement with Jones - two years, $36MM. Despite all the posturing from Scott Boras, the Dodgers got Andruw for a reasonable rate and term. Nice move by Ned Colletti.

Disappointed we didn't add him as well, i guess it's either fukyoudome or kuroda(sp?)

Well, at least my second favorite team signed him.

The Dodgers are going to be very good this year.

Jones is good but not for that kind of money. Jeez, we did better than I intially thought to get Guillen at the price that we did. I sure hope Moore isn't done going after some other upper-echelon players.

Jones only hangup is that he batted.220 last year, but i liked having his "star power" here too and hoped he could bat like .260 or so and hit some bombs. Long run this may be a good non-sign, who knows. I know we have interest in the other 2 i mentioned and Rowand, but not sure about him. We'll see...

Would have been fine, but I'd rather have the starting pitcher, other things being equal.

It actually feels good that we are finally a threat in the off season in trying to sign some real talent

I would have been excited about a Jones signing, but Rowand's the guy I want, especially if the team deals DDJ.

No doubt. I might have to back off my heavy criticism of the Glass family, though I still suspicision that they're a bunch of cheap asses.

I heard its between us and the cubs for fukudome, and he suppose to make his mind up by tonight

Supposedly he was supposed to make the decision by midnight and buster onley said the Padres and Cubs seemed to be in the race for him.

Andruw Jones apparently wanted to stay in the NL anyway and used the Royals as a bargaining chip.

Not bad, we get a gold glover and a power hitter for a reasonable price.
