Chiefs promote Stallings (G) to active roster and

add QB to practice squad:

G TRE STALLINGS PROMOTED TO 53-MAN ROSTER, GREENE ADDED TO PS

Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Thursday that the club has agreed to terms of a three-year contract with G Tre Stallings, adding him to the club’s 53-man roster from the practice squad. Per Chiefs policy, no other terms of the agreement were made available. In addition, Kansas City added QB David Greene to the practice squad.

Stallings (6-3, 315) originally joined the Chiefs as the first of their two sixth-round picks (186th overall) in the 2006 NFL Draft. He was on Kansas City’s 53-man roster during the entire 2006 campaign, but was inactive for all 16 contests. He attended training camp with the Chiefs in 2007, but was released prior to the start of the season. Stallings joined the club’s practice squad on October 3rd.

Stallings started 48 consecutive games at Ole Miss, drawing 29 starting assignments at left tackle and 19 at right tackle. His 48 starts tie him with G/T Marcus Johnson for the most in Rebels history. Stallings prepped at South Pike High School in Magnolia, Mississippi.

Greene (6-3, 226) originally entered the NFL as the first of Seattle’s two third-round picks (85th overall) in the 2005 NFL Draft and served as the club’s third quarterback for 16 regular season contests and three postseason games, including Super Bowl XL. He was inactive for 12 games in 2006 as the Seahawks third quarterback and saw duty as the Seattle’s back-up quarterback for four contests. Greene attended training camp with the Seahawks in 2007, but was released prior to the start of the regular season. He joined New England’s practice squad on September 19th before being released on November 20th.

Greene started an NCAA-record 52 consecutive games at the University of Georgia, becoming the winningest quarterback in NCAA Division I history with 42 career victories, surpassing QB Peyton Manning’s record of 39. He prepped at South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, Georgia.

Good news, thanks for posting. I wondered why we Wernt promoting some Olineman with the sad state of our Oline.

May be a dumb question but does anyone here have any direct knowledge of Greene, like have you seen the guy in action? I mean a 4 year starter at Georgia has to count for something; and no I am not at all touting him as a starter I just am looking for some info, if anyone has it

David Greene. Perhaps the best play-action ever:

The former Bulldog QB will most likely not last long. Though nifty in college; he most likely will never do much in the NFL. A shame though, good kid.

Print em???

I watched David Greene his last couple of years at Georgia. Honestly, don't mean to be so mean to the guy, but he reminds me of a little stronger-armed, younger Damon Huard.

I know, that sounds bad!

So a little younger Trent Green.

Start him at RG, and Taylor at RT!

The receiver did a great job of selling that too.

Having only 2 QB's on the roster isn't too good of an idea. Especially if Croyle isn't 100%, and Huard will give up on us if he doesn't get hurt. I can't believe Thigpen is on the IR already.

Thats pretty impressive.

It's impressive till you realize all the NFL talent David Greene played with....

He didn't throw Int's but in general he has a pretty weak arm and is really bad when asked to throw the ball long, unless the guy is wide open like in that youtube link.

David Greene is like a left handed Damon Huard, which on a college team loaded with talent won a lot of games.
