I think i am going to go see it tonight... I hope it kicks some ass!

edit: that is a pretty cool trailer, horrible ****ing quality though, thats for sure.

I think I'll see this tomorrow. Maybe the dought of good sci-fi movies is coming to an end at long last.

I was going to go see it UNTIL I read the following from another site I visit.

Quote:

I timed it at 1h15 minutes, making it the shortest movie I've ever seen in a theater.

How critics can give this steaming pile of horseshit anything but three thumbs down is beyond me.

If you're thinking of seeing it, just take the 12$, burn em and flush the ashes down the toilet. At least you won't waste your time.

If people say: well I'll go and see it on the bigscreen cause it'll be way better than on DVD, well, it won't. It'll suck just as much.

Yes you do see the monster. Oooooooooooooooo!

Jittery movie. Check.

Bad actors. Check.

Characters doing stuff NO ONE would ever consider doing considering the circumstances. Like running towards a skyscraper-size monster that's in the process of destroying NY or, even worse, thinking of filming yourself doing it. Check.

Leaving the theater not understanding anything about how the monster came about. Check.

Don't know if there will be a sequel to explain things (Alfalfafield?) but it certainly can't be worse than this. Only Ishtar was worse than this in my books.

Consider yourself warned. I took one for y'all.

I heard the movie was 80 min and it has a 77% so far on Rottentomatoes.com I will see it regardless, i dont let reviews effect what i see, it just helps to know the general consensus of some i guess.

Is 77 percent on Rottentomatoes.com good or bad?

Hmmm. Well, maybe the drought continues unabated.

I think its more of a monster movie than a sci fi movie Mr. Fax.

By the way, for anyone who wants to see an awesome monster movie, rent The Host. Its a Korean movie from last year or two years ago and it is great. Very funny and entertaining.

Ill see it of course. IM a sucker for a good Giant Monster movie, but the Blair Witch hand held camera crap, im not sure about. But i guess thats the gimmick.

BTW, why if you were being chased around NY city by a giant monster, would you continue to film every single thing???

Yeah The Hollywood Reporter said,"It's The Blair Godzilla Project."

ill be missing that as it doesnt look interesting at all. it reminds me (from the previews) of Jeepers Creepers about how nothing is explained and the director expects you to either ignore the fact that your lost or make up your own background to create your own plots to make it interesting. Jeepers creepers (saw it only on cable) is :cuss: b/c it explains NOTHING!!! oh there this invincible monster that eats people.....where did it come from? how did it get its powers? etc....

so to quote Pooty Tang..."I got to say nah nay no" on this movie

The Host was great. They showed the monster in full daylight running around causing chaos within 15 minutes of the movie starting. Thats pretty refreshing after most movies just hint and give glimpses.

I actually like leaving things somewhat mysterious as opposed to the George Lucas method of trying to explain ever single thing and give everything a background story.
