Free agency begins! Justin Smiley signs with the Dolphins

Just heard it on ESPN radio. Justin Smiley OG signed a 5 year deal worth $25 million dollars with $9 million guaranteed. Parcells strikes first.

St. Louis is gonna offer Brown a ton of money. He's absolutely killed that team the last couple of years.

Yeah, and the Rams only have like $7M in cap space.

Mecca 02-29-2008 01:11 AM

The Rams team in general isn't that bad.....if they settle their OT position they can compete for the playoffs in the NFC.

Their LB core and secondary are awful, reminds me almost of the 2002 Chiefs and just about any football team in America regardless of level can run the ball on them.

But their offense does have a lot of weapons, and Bulger holds onto the ball a long time just like Green used to so they're gonna have to protect him better if they want to even be competitive.

Bulger
Jackson
Leonard
Holt
Bennett
Hall
McMichael
Barron (would be a hell of a RT in this league if he didn't false start all the time)

Looks as if they are looking at Faneca as well so talent wise on offense they have one of the most talented on paper teams in the NFL. But that defense is scary bad.

Mecca 02-29-2008 07:12 AM

Well um Will Witherspoon is pretty good, I'd take him.

Hoover 02-29-2008 08:09 AM

Missing out on Jeff Faine hurts IMO.

Adding him to go along with Waters and Mac would have gone a long way to rebuiling the line.
