Many of you know that I've been one of the biggest proponents of getting other people involved in making improvements to ChiefsPlanet. The server and software upgrade has been a HUGE improvement, but I'm sure there are many more things that can be done. Now that I've actually got a little bit of power, I'd like to see what types of things people are still looking for in terms of improvements to the Planet.

Important caveats:

• This thread is just to get ideas about the types of things people want. However, there's no guarantee that ANY of this will actually get done because...
• We can't just go adding in everything under the sun to the software. Everything we add puts more of a load on the server, and the whole reason for upgrading was to get away from that.
• Anything too "customized" becomes a real pain when trying to upgrade the software. We survived on an ancient version of vBulletin for years - let's not do that again.
• I'm pretty new to this admin stuff, so who knows if I (or any of the other admins) will be able to figure any of this stuff out without risking breaking something.

Also, if you've got a specific type of technical expertise, feel free to post that in the thread as well. Again, no guarantees that it'll mean anything, but it'll at least help if we're looking for an expert with one thing or another down the line.

Make a virtual ChiefsPlanet, kinda like Second Life. :D

That way, we can play football while we're chatting. Yay!

Okay, I know, that would like wreak havoc on the server. :(

At the risk of being redundant with the "Server Issues" thread, here are a few things I've been tossing around.

• Fix the search feature. We basically know what has to be done for that, but we're not sure how to do it without breaking the Planet. Plus, it could require up to a couple days of downtime.
• Add in a chat room for game days. I hate game threads...they're too slow. So I want a chat room, dammit!
• Even though I like chat rooms, I have (what I think) is a pretty good idea for game threads. Essentially, I'd like to put a link below the last post (to the right of "post reply") that will refresh the thread, then jump to the first unread post. Essentially, it's the same as the link from the forum, but in a convenient location so you can quickly refresh the game thread and get to the new posts.
• Fix the tables/colors in the user profile page. They seem to be all screwy right now, and I'm not sure why.

Oh, and fix the "mobile user" style. It got broken when Kyle upgraded us from 3.6.8 to 3.7 beta 5.

Make blackjack stop stealing my hard-earned money.

For the record, that wasn't my doing. I haven't figured out what my first mod abuse will be, but I'm saving it up for something good.
