mountain bikers on the planet?
if so, what do you ride, and what kind of riding/where do you ride?
|
About 14 tears ago, I took up the hobby, got my hands on a nice Park Pre. I've modded it over the years, planning on spending more time on my bike now.
Thing is, I gave up golf to take up mountain biking, and I still hit the same number of trees. |

Road rider myself, but I do have a Stumpjumper for cruising around with the wife and kids.

I ride year round mostly in the Stony Creek Area outside of Harrisburg. Miles and miles of state game land that I've only seen probably 1/2 of after living here for five years. Stony Creek runs through the valley as well which has some decent fly fishing if you have one of those 4 or 5 piece rods you can strap to your back.
My ride is a GT I-Drive. Bought the 3.0 version about 3 years ago and never found anything that climbed or rode quiet as well. The only thing I would recommend is replacing the front shocks with better ones if you're going to be on extreme terrain. I've bottomed stock shocks out a couple times before replacing them with Z1 forks. Your wrists will thank you. http://www.realcycles.com/smsimg/uploads/2004gt_5.jpg |
I ride a Trek and I ride over on the trails between Red Bridge and Blue Ridge right behind Holmes.

I have an Avent Jibster, it's an aggressive hardtail. I mainly freeride, do some CC on it and I also race it in Cruiser class occasionally at the BMX track. If we had some slalom and/or any 4x races around here I would be there in a heartbeat!!!

I love the looks my 6-yr-old gets from other MTBers when he is flying down the trails! headsnap, more comfortable on two wheels than two feet... |
where's the motor?

You bastards hog the mountain roads too
it must be tempting to run you off the side |
1989 RockHopper...................................
A first generation mountain bike. It really is a hybrid with 26 inch wheels. I don't jump and race. Lots of off pavement riding. The thing will go anywhere. I also road bike. It's all about the exercise. I'm getting shit for losing weight. The people I work with have never seen what I weighed 25-30 years ago. I've literally turned back the clock. Excluding the hair. Oh well.

ah, tis the season
I mostly ride @ Smithville Lake, Blue River, and Landahl Park. I ride an Iron Horse Azure.
