The 3rd round picks and the one at the top of the 4th

Could be huge if the Chiefs can hit on those picks. Should be a few good Gs and Cs available. This draft is suppossed to have alot of mid round talent so here's to hoping that we score.

In my ideal world, we'll go for a third rotational DE (Chris Ellis), some interior line help (Eric Young), a great deep threat (Eddie Royal), and a perfect Cover 2 corner (Trae Williams).

Tab that with the first two rounds like this and you have a damn fine draft.

1a. Chris Long/Sedrick Ellis
1b. Chris Williams
2. James Hardy/Antoine Cason
3a. Chris Ellis
3b. Eric Young
3c. Eddie Royal
4. Trae Williams

I'd like to see us package one of the 3rd with one or two of our late round picks to move into the 2nd.

This draft is pretty deep and it looks like some good talent may end up falling out of the 1st round.

Man I really don't like James Hardy...

ChiefsCountry 04-25-2008 02:21 PM

I would package one of our 3rds with #17 to move up in the first round.

6'6", 4.4 speed?

We've had eye witness accounts on this board who say he's the real deal?

Solid production against solid competition?

What's not to like? I'd be nothing short of enthralled if he made it to us -- which he won't.

Mecca 04-25-2008 02:22 PM

I don't believe he even remotely plays at 4.4, I've seen them play several times he never separates. To me he is like a TE as a WR he makes plays on the ball because of his size and strength to take it away not because he separates.

I think he's still going to have that massive size advantage in the NFL.

The Franchise 04-25-2008 02:24 PM

Well then you could take out James Hardy and put in Antoine Cason....and it would still be an amazing draft.

philfree 04-25-2008 02:26 PM

One of those 4 picks would look good on Jerome Simpson. Also would like Zuttah and or Rachel for Gs and Godfrey as a CB.

I've seen plenty of big guys not make it, if you can't separate in the NFL you will struggle.

Long or Dorsey + Williams or Clady in the first would be perfect.

I still say it's worth it. The speed that tanks your big guys is in the Jarrett/Sweed range. Hardy covers more ground than both of them in less time. He can make it.

Best thing about him is that Indiana's not a football factory. He's got loads of upside with route-running and finding space.
