A lot of people enjoyed using the chat room last year, so I've been looking into options for the new software. Nothing works all that great honestly, but I think I found one that might be pretty nice for us. If you're in the mood to play with it, you can check it out.

This is an "integrated" look, with the chat room embedded in a typical ChiefsPlanet page:

Hmm...there's definitely been a performance decrease in the past half hour. I'll have to try and track down if the chat's the cause or not. If so, I might have to look into other options. :(

Weird. Everything seems fine now. Maybe it was something unrelated.

Anyway, I'll leave everything on for now and monitor response times. If it becomes an issue, I'll disable everything until a better option is found.

I suck at visuals, but it would be nice to have the default theme in there match the overall color scheme of ChiefsPlanet. Since the software seems tailored more toward darker backgrounds, maybe a dark red base color with whites, grays, and yellows? I dunno.

Anyway, I probably won't have time to play with it myself for a while, but if any of you are in the mood to take a stab at it, go for it. Just mess with the colors in the options until it looks right, then let me know. All I need is the color codes you used for each setting to create a theme.

People will always be able to pick their own custom theme after they start with the default.

Grr...damn color schemes are annoying. The background color affects the color of all the other elements, so you can't have a gray text box with a red background. Stupid.
