My KU Tournament Recap Videos

I've always wanted to do a video or highlight reel and finally got down to it. The video has 5 parts, with 3 of them in one file. Took me a while since I didn't cap my own games...Without further ado....

First, there is the first 3 games. Portland State, UNLV, and Villanova. I couldn't find video on the games so I did a slide show.

Second, Davidson game I snagged some video but it isn't near the quality the next ones were. It's definitely watchable, just not HD like the rest of it. :(

Finally, there is the UNC game, Memphis game, and a celebration mix of video and pictures.

I decided to give you the source files because Google Video has quality issues and the rest of the sites don't allow as large or long of videos. Let me know if these don't work for you.

I used VLC Player to play the files. And sorry about the 1GB file but I think you'll like it the best, so hopefully you can forgive that. And it's HD quality.

Download

To save, right click, "Save file as".

Video #1 - Portland, UNLV, Villanova(320MB) ****NEW LINK COURTESY CLAYTHAN****
Video #1 - Portland, UNLV, Villanova (392MB)
There's two streams here because I couldn't get it to compress to an mp4 like the others and for some reason that screws up my host and the download. The first link and file should work (as it's been working for me), but if it doesn't, try the second link.
Video #2 - Davidson (193MB) ****NEW LINK COURTESY CLAYTHAN****
Video #3 - UNC, Memphis, Celebration (1GB)

What format did you use to compress?

FCP kept crashing when I tried to compress the first file to mp4. I think it's because I made the slideshow in iMovie. But that's only my hunch. The first download link was converted to mp4 by ffmpeg.

The other videos are mp4 compressed. I thought it offered the best retention in quality and color. Both were exported straight from FCP.

Does that answer it?

Sort of...what bitrate are you using? 1 GB, even for 1280x720, seems excessive. I can download a full 2-hour movie in 720p and it's only 4.5 GB.

I noticed that as I'm familiar with downloading TV shows and this is bigger than a HD cap of say House, which is double the time.

It says the data rate is roughly 7000kb/s but, I don't know that that's accurate. 24 frames per second.

7000!!!

Yeah, you could probably get by with half that...

I didn't pick it. FCP default..

I'm uploading to Claythan's server for faster speeds. (Thanks!)

I'm also re-encoding the 1GB file. Apparently, the default is more than I needed and being a noob to the settings, I didn't question it.

Eh, they're manageable sizes. And I think Davidson isn't at that bitrate anyway.

New link for Video #1 added.

I downloaded these the first two are pretty good. I think my work pc sucks because the unc vid was choppy.

Really? What part is choppy?

(The UNC-CEL is my favorite because of the media I had to work with)

He probably can't handle hi-def. It was fine for me.
