Has anybody heard ANY buzz out of OTAs about this guy?

I've read not a peep about Merritt's abilities. Methinks he was an awful pick with so many viable names having dropped to that pick.

Nothing. I've heard murmurs about Dorsey, Albert, Flowers, Charles, Cottam, Morgan, Franklin, Carr, Richardson, Robinson, Johnston, and numerous UDFAs. But not a word spoken about Merritt.

Anybody heard any buzz whatsoever?

He was held out of practice most of the time, if not all. I forget what the injury was.

I read on ESPN that he's single-handedly revolutionizing the league. Both NBC and CBS broke into their regular broadcasts with coverage of him in practice last week. Other than that, I haven't heard of anything.

I heard he was a beast until he met a girl in KC that made him shave his chest and testicles.

It's been all downhill since then and he'll be lucky to make the taxi squad.

Though my sources say that Carl gave him the "Thumbs Up" sign on the new look.

I'd grade his performance so far as a C-.

He's been schooling Carl on how to make love to a woman...with Carls wife...& Herms been begging him to take him fishing & show him how he catches those lunker bass.

I don't understand why we don't try to find players that can instantly start. Whether it be a first or 7th rd pick.

At least you have to try. I know it's slim pickens in the 7th round, but I think you have to go into the mindset that ALL picks should one day be future starters.

Like Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Edison, and Lawrence Welk. Someday, Mr. CoMoChief's dream will come true and all picks will start. Of course, we'll have to increase the number of players on each side from 11 to about 50, but that's okay. Except for the salary cap, I guess.

I wonder what percentage of 7th round picks have turned out to be starters in the league...It can't be good at all. Most 6th and 7th rounders are picks purely for depth and backup purposes. Occasionally you'll pluck a starter, but for the most part these guys barely make the team or get cut.
