Chiefs O vs. Bears D

Why is everyone so happy the starters did so well against them? I keep hearing things like "staunchy D" thrown around, but they weren't very good last year.

NFL.com has them listed as the 28th rated defense last year.

What gives?

The bears are going to be the worst NFC North team this year, no doubt about it. They still have a decent pass rush and secondary though.
