My wife has breast cancer and just underwent the same procedure last month. It's a big deal physically and emotionally.

Ms. Applegate came to age well after my years as a dog, so I've never seen her as anything other than an adolescent actress.

Now as an adult, she has a unique opportunity to speak out on the subject of breast cancer with rare insight that will increase the power of her words. I pray that she will survive and that she will be heard widely and clearly.
