Have some perspective guys
Of course we all want to bag on Carl, Herm, Chan and Gun. They lost. But, how quickly everyone seems to have forgotten that this team is the 2nd youngest in the league and they played the defending AFC champs at their place. I would think chiefs nation would be jumping for joy that they had a chance to win this game at all. If my memory serves me right, 2 months ago everyone was saying that they will start off pretty mistake prone and aweful and slowly improve over the course of the season. If they improve from here like everyone thought they would from the start, they should be pretty good by week 10 or 12. As far as Croyle, it is what it is. We could have drafted the kid from Michigan (Henne?), and now we would be bitching that he couldn't stay healthy. That hit would have separated most guys shoulders. It'll suck to have to use a number one or two on QB next year, but that may be the case. My point here is that this young team showed alot of moxie and alot of promise from what most thought. This season will be more fun to watch than most of us probably thought. Enjoy it for that. Our team is 2 years away anyhow, and most realistic chiefs fans knew that going in,.

A four period dose of a healthy Brady would have changed your perspective.
On the hit that put Croyle down.....you must be kidding. 3 injuries in 7 games says a lot more about this poor excuse of an NFL QB than that hit. |
I really thought we would get shilacked. I know Brady went down, but seriously, I was ok with most things. But, I have a question, was anyone else REALLY wishing we would have signed Feeley when Novak came trotting out for the FG? I don't think I'll be confident in a FG attempt all season.

The truth is, Chan Gailey is a huge disappointment after game #1. Chicken shit playcalling. It sure is funny to me that Croyle has this great arm yet never gets to use it. Once again, that Chicago preseason game was a mirage. They showed more things in that game than they did in a game that counts.

I'm skeptical about the "one of the youngest teams" angle. There's been a lot of teams that have been the youngest team and they still stink three years later.
I really wonder how many of these young guys they can retain anyway once their initial contracts expire. Most NFL teams turnover like 75% in three years. We'll see. I don't buy it. It's not baseball where guys can develop for 5 years. |

The OC is always the initial scapegoat because it's the ultimate armchair QB reaction. When people sit there they can always say "Why did you run that play?"
That's why OC's are usually among the first ones fired when things go sour, because it appeases the fans for a time. The best OC couldn't make any more out of this turdfest than Gailey will. Croyle isn't good, there's never been any reason or evidence to think otherwise- in college or the NFL. The whole drafting of Croyle as your QBOTF was a sham and a joke. |

Jesus people, since their first SB win, it's been clear that the Pats are NOT the team to go creative on O with. People talk about their secondary being a weakness, but I submit Belichek will never have a weak secondary. Fer chissakes he got a w/r into all world DB shape ON THE FLY. You go trying to work some trickery and Brodie's a bewildered mess in the vein of Ryan Leaf facing DT and Co.

Is it too much to ask Chan Gailey or Herm Edwards to throw the ball on first down? Every drive started with a run, only a few times after a first down did they pass but it was so predictable to run on first down. Play action on first down could have been a big play. Just a thought.
