Interesting tidbit on Ocho Cinco..
Sorry if repost
The league said they would not allow it yet because of jersey requirements and stock issues in those jerseys.. Those issues arise when a player changes name or numbers.. But then someone pointed out there were some people on his team and many on other teams that changed names or numbers this year and the league allowed it??? Seems to me the league and Goodell are being very hypocritical and just going after Chad.. Now I think it is stupid what Chad is doing, but he has the right to do it.. |
No Fun League strikes again.
Doesnt the NFL realize how many "Ocho Cinco" jerseys they could sell?? |
The way i understood it when it was announced yesterday was that he was indeed allowed to change his name ,but missed the deadline to do so. They have a final deadline so reebok can make the jerseys. He is still allowed to change his name on the jersey but he has to buy back all the overstock johnson jerseys first.

I remember seeing a guy in a Randy Moss #18 Vikings jersey in Moss's rookie year. Apparently he wore that # in the preseason and had to switch once the season started. |
Larry Johnson wore #34 in his early KC days.

Johnson fcks with league
league fcks with Johnson |
Reebok is stupid. They'd make much more money selling Ocho Cinco jerseys than they would lose throwing away a shipment of Chad Johnson jerseys.
|
I still see people wearing their #25 Cromartie Jerseys and their #91 Merriman Jerseys.

And then there's this story about Jerry Porter owing Reebok $210,000 to change his number: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2887504 |
