A little history....

On years when dates fell on the same day they do this year....

(facts obtained from wikipedia.com)

2003 -
Coach - Dick Vermeil
Record - 13-3
Playoffs - AFC West champs - Lost to Colts 38-31
Notes of interest - Priest Holmes breaks Marshall Faulk’s single-season rushing touchdown record by scoring his 27th rushing touchdown against the Chicago Bears. Trent Green threw for 4,000 yards, and kick returner Dante Hall returned four kicks for touchdowns.

1997 -
Coach - Marty Schottenheimer
Record - 13-3
Playoffs - AFC West champs - Lost to Broncos 10-14
Notes of interest - The season is best remembered for the Rich Gannon-Elvis Grbac quarterback controversy which brewed throughout the entire season and arguably cost the Chiefs a victory in the playoffs.

1986 -
Coach - John Mackovic
Record - 10-6
Playoffs - Wild Card - Lost to Jets 15-35
Notes of interest - Former linebacker Willie Lanier was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

1980 -
Coach - Marv Levy
Record - 8-8
Playoffs - No playoff berth
Notes of interest - Team's first winning season since 1972. Chiefs selected guard Brad Budde, the son of Chiefs Hall of Fame guard Ed Budde, as the team's first-round draft choice, making the Buddes the first father-son combination to become first-round draftees of the same team in NFL history.

1975 -
Coach - Paul Wiggin
Record - 5-9
Playoffs - No playoff berth
Notes of interest - The highlight of the season was a 34-31 upset win at Dallas on Monday Night Football. The regular season finale at Oakland marked the final games in the Hall of Fame careers of Len Dawson and Buck Buchanan.

1969 -
Coach - Hank Stram
Record - 11-3
Playoffs - Second place in Western Division, beat Jets 13-6, defeated Raiders 17-7, and stomped heavily favored Vikings 23-7 to win Super Bowl IV
Notes of interest - The season was marred not only by an injury to quarterback Len Dawson but also controversy surrounding Dawson and his purported involvement in a sports gambling ring. Back-up quarterback Mike Livingston and the Chiefs' stellar defense led the Chiefs back to the Super Bowl, this time, to win it all.
Seven future Hall of Famers played for the Chiefs on the 1969 squad, including QB Len Dawson, LB's Willie Lanier and Bobby Bell, DT Buck Buchanan, CB Emmitt Thomas and K Jan Stenerud. Coach Hank Stram has also been enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

We suck... yet so many things point to 1969.

Just goes to show that we've had out good times and bad times. On the roller coaster, it looks like we are right on scedule for some bad times. But it also shows us that there's hope.

I guess this wasn't as interesting to others as it was to me.

Interesting but meaningless to here and now. Thanks for the info though.

So the pattern to date is:

good bab bab good good good

Extending this pattern into the future gives...

bad bad bad bad
