Need help with DVD converting/ burning

Ok I'm a novice in this area. What I'm looking for is a good, easy to understand free or cheap dvd converter/ burner that's out there on the web easy to grab and use. You Pirates know what I'm talking about. ;)
Help a guy out would ya? :grovel:

Are you just looking to rip from a DVD and make a copy, or are you looking to convert a video file (say xVid) to DVD format and then burn?

DVDFab Platinum allows you to insert the DVD and copy on the fly. It does the decrypting, compressing and burning in one easy step. It is very easy to use and works 100% of the time.

Using the other methods involves one program to decrypt, one to compress and one to burn.

Purchase the product and you will be very happy - or download it for free on torrents :D

I use CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD. Together, they cost about $100 at current exchange rates. AnyDVD runs in the background and decrypts any DVD that you load. CloneDVD compresses and burns the disk. Licenses include lifetime updates to defeat evolving copy protection. I started using these after Pastor Mike recommended them and I've had no problems at all.
