Hackett being considered to replace Kiffin?

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3617200

I know...another Kiffin is going to be fired thread. Just thought Hackett's name was interesting.

According to a source, Raiders owner Al Davis scheduled one-hour meetings Monday evening with three members of the coaching staff -- offensive coordinator Greg Knapp, offensive line coach Tom Cable and longtime NFL offensive coordinator and current Raiders consultant Paul Hackett. The meetings, according to the source, were to discuss the possibility of replacing Kiffin, who has yet to be informed of any potential change.

Paul Hackett is an excellent HC candidate, he was USC HC before c'mon AL!!!!!!

Doesnt make much sense to have "Downfield Al" put a short passing game coach in charge?

The last time I felt like this, I was 8 years old in the Sears and Santa Claus was telling me that if I was good he'd bring me Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots.

Jeez. What a crappy position Kiffin's in. Greasy Al has all these not-secret-at-all meetings with Rob Ryan and Knapp and Cable- guys who, purportedly, work for Kiffin BTW- and he's just gotta take it.

Say tomorrow Kiffin's still got a job and he needs to ream one of these guys for a routine ****up at practice, a guy who just last night had a cozy little huddle with the big cheese...I don't know if I could do it every day.

That said, this is some funny shit.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, God bless Al's heart. May he live to 160.

IS Al trying to force Kiffin to quit on his own??

Great, where do we sign to get Kiflin on this staff?

The guy is a solid young mind and could do very well with a solid GM..

Do it Clark!

I think it has been leaked that he doesn't want to pay Kiffin's guarenteed money and won't have to if he quits.

Yes. The tight ol' codger is trying his damndest to get out of paying him a couple of million to fire him. Kiffin's lawyers have advised him well. Continue to do your job... Let Al be the one to make the next move.
