Wireless internet connection

My sister moved in with me the other day and has a laptop. I have wireless set up in my house through a linksys router. It was a secured network so she needed a password to get on the network. I couldnt remember what it was so I reset my router to start over. Now its all messed up. It keeps telling me its acquiring network address and that its unable to find a certificate to log on. In the end it says it has limited or no connectivity. I am on my internet but its plugged in to my laptop.

I tried going through the network setup wizard but it says there isn't an active internet connection.

What's the problem?

Thanks in advance.

your wireless configuration has gone back to default settings and you may have to directly plug it in to configure. Is this a linksys router?

Its directly plugged in from my router to my laptop right now and its working but I need it to be wireless.

You just need to reconfigure the wireless settings again. http://192.168.1.1 put this in your internet browser and hopefully you should get a username/password response. Leave the username blank and type admin for the pass and this will get you into the GUI interface to reconfigure.

admin didn't work but the password I changed it to in the network setup wizard worked.

What's next?

good, so it let you into the router and you have the webpage. There should be a wireless tab where you can set the SSID broadcast name, usually linksys is the default, and set the WEP or WPA code. WEP is not as secure but the easiest to use. There should be a box you can type in a word and have it generate a key for you. This will be the key she needs to get her connection.

Sending you a smoke too.
