The way I see the BCS shaping up if the season ended today:

BCS National Championship: Florida/Alabama vs Texas/Oklahoma
Orange Bowl: Georgia Tech/Florida state vs USC
Rose Bowl: Penn St vs Oregon State
Sugar Bowl: Florida/Alabama vs Cincinnati
Fiesta Bowl: Texas/Oklahoma vs Utah

The at-large bids would be USC, Florida/Alabama, and Texas/Oklahoma. Utah gets an automatic bid.

The selection process works such that:
- the Sugar and Fiesta would first pick replacements for the NCG teams: Sugar taking the loser of Florida/Alabama and Fiesta taking whichever of Texas/OU doesn't make the NCG.
- Rose bowl is set as Big 10 champ vs Pac 10 champ
- Orange gets ACC Champ

then to fill out the bowls the selection order goes Fiesta, Sugar, Orange.

In years past the Fiesta has taken the non-BCS conference at-large/automatic bid plus Utah is close to Glendale so I threw Utah in the Fiesta Bowl.

The SEC has often taken the Big East Champ so I threw Cincinnati there.

That leaves USC going to the Orange Bowl.

Not the greatest matchups, but it's how I see it going.

If I were picking the matchups still following the selection procedure I'd set the bowl games as follows:

BCS National Championship: Florida/Alabama vs Texas/Oklahoma
Orange: Florida State/Ga Tech vs Cincinnati
Rose: Penn State vs Oregon State
Sugar: Florida/Alabama vs USC**
Fiesta: Texas/Oklahoma vs Utah**

** If Florida goes to the Sugar I would have Florida vs USC. If Alabama goes I'd have Alabama vs Utah and USC in the Fiesta.

I hate Oklahoma, but after last night, they should at least be No. 2.

agreed. they smoked the #2 team in the country. Florida beat up mighty Citadel.

Florida should get jumped because they played Citadel? I forgot that OU's OOC schedule included powerhouses Chattanooga and Washington.

Has the coaches poll been out yet? Coaches may have Oklahoma 2nd.

Well, they certainly didn't play them during the second-to-last week of the season. :rolleyes:

Texas beat OU on a neutral field and they have the same # of losses. I just don't see how you can put them ahead of UT.

How the hell is Michigan State still ranked?

Florida usually has a bye before the FSU game. This year they scheduled a cupcake instead of a bye. Didn't know that playing Citadel week 3 instead of week 13 should make such a monumental difference. :spock:

Playing the Citadel at all should be a severe penalty.

It matters when your competition is playing top teams. Are we supposed to be impressed by that?

And honestly, has Florida beaten ANYBODY this year the way Oklahoma destroyed No. 2 Texas Tech last night?

Oregon state will probably lose to Oregon messing all the bowl stuff up.
