Completely Devestated... :(

I am completely devestated from that McCaffery play... I guess the rest of the AFC West has a reason to smile...

This sucks... Bring reality to the term "break a leg."

I hope he can make a comeback... His career could be over.

Phobia 09-10-2001 09:28 PM

I hope he makes a comeback, too. I'd hate to see the guy's career ended this way!

Bwana 09-10-2001 09:30 PM

TJ: It does suck, but it's part of the game. Knowing Ed, he will be back.

Taco John 09-10-2001 09:31 PM

Yeah, he's been my favorite player for awhile... What a bummer...

Bull 09-10-2001 09:55 PM

It was a clean hit, Bummer that this type of thing had to happen to anyone.

DaWolf 09-10-2001 09:58 PM

It sucks dude, but he will be back. McCafferey's a great player. Footballwise, you guys look to be fine though, with the depth you have at reciever, something I wish we could say right now...

Ugly Duck 09-10-2001 11:14 PM

Geez - that guy is all tough. Snaps both bones in his leg but HANGS ON TO THE FREAKIN BALL!! Then does the budha "peace" gesture to the fans on his way out. He may be the leagues best actor and a major Raider-killer, but the man is all tough.

ChiefGator 09-10-2001 11:15 PM

TJ,

I know it may not be much conselation, but at least Terrel Davis looks good. Happy to see him finish his comeback and have such a strong game.

Now if only we can knock him out when we play him. :p

Taco John 09-10-2001 11:26 PM

Yeah... Davis did look good... Finishing with 102 yards is a nice feather in his cap for game one...

I'm just so shocked that my favorite player in the NFL may never suit up on the field again... This is a tough one to swallow... It's broken in two places... The tibula and the fibula... He's undergoing an operation even as I type this...

*deep breath*

ptlyon 09-11-2001 06:36 AM

My Condolances TJ...

It is terrible for anyone to get hurt like that. Hope he makes it back.

______________
wouldn't wish that on anybody. well, except for Romanowski or Al Davis...

HC_Chief 09-11-2001 06:39 AM

Man, that does suck.

I knew it broke as soon as he went down... legs don't flop like that under the knee unless you break both bones.

Mile High Mania 09-11-2001 06:39 AM

Taco ... if you read my other comments, they're not aimed at you. Just wanted to make sure that we are clear on that one.

It's hard to be really pumped about the game and all the good that happened today.

Archie F. Swin 09-11-2001 06:42 AM

Ed got injured doing what he does best, going beyond the call of duty to make the play. He's the "Charlie Hustle" of the AFC West, and I hope (for your sake only) he returns to play.

Ultra Peanut 09-11-2001 06:51 AM

Even though I dislike Special Ed, this really sucks. I hope he's able to come back next year. His lower leg flopping around was one of the most gruesome football-related injuries I've seen behind things like knee hyperextensions(Hodges Mitchell's in the Holiday Bowl last year actually made me dizzy) as far as the "gross" factor goes.

mcan 09-11-2001 06:58 AM

Way to hold on to that ball Ed! Congrats on a great game and good luck with your recovery. Maybe We'll see you and Slymo on the fields of glory putting up several 100 yard plus days next year.
